Title: Boundary (and other) layers and how to approximate them
Abstract: In this talk we will give an overview of singularly perturbed
boundary value problems, focusing on the presence of boundary layers in
their solution. We will give examples from fluid and solid mechanics, and
discuss how one can approximate the solution to such problems, using
mainly the Finite Element Method.
