Description

Are you interested in having more opportunities to talk about teaching (and teaching-related issues) with your colleagues in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UMBC?

Come to the Math Stat Teaching Circle!

Topic:  Remove teaching tools and approaches

We have had a whirlwind of a semester with emergency online transition due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  Most of us didn't have the time to carefully reflect about which tools & methods we used for online content delivery and assessments.

This teaching circle will be an opportunity for us to reflect on the tools and approaches we've used this semester.  We will share our successes and brainstorm ideas to make the summer semester (and perhaps the fall) a more intentional online experience for our students and ourselves.

Virtual lunch will be provided, but as e-lunches are notoriously unsatisfying, please feel free to bring your own lunch to the meeting.  We will meet in the Blackboard Sandbox Collaborate main room at noon on May 13th.  If you'd like a reminder of the meeting, please RSVP and I will send out a reminder on Tuesday May 12th.  The meeting will be scheduled until 1:30, but feel free to leave earlier if you need.

If you intend to join this meeting, please fill out the attached reflection before the meeting (the same form is attached twice, once in .docx format and once in .pdf).  It will be helpful if you send me the form by Tuesday May 12th, so that I can compile everyone's approaches and share the document in the meeting.

I hope to "see" you all there,

Liz
