Dr. Dulal Bhaumik, PhD 1988, in the news

Dr. Dulal Bhaumik, PhD 1988 Statistics, is in the news as the coauthor of a study of bacterial vaginosis.  The article titled "The Microbiome Composition of a Man's Penis Predicts Incident Bacterial Vaginosis in His Female Sex Partner With High Accuracy" was published on August 04, 2020 in Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology and widely discussed in the media, including NewsweekCNN, WTOP, Business Insider, among dozens of others.

Dr. Bhaumik is a Professor of Psychiatry, Biostatistics and Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  In 2008 he was elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association for his outstanding contributions to the development of Optimal Designs; Construction of Prediction and Tolerance Limits for Environmental Data; Hypotheses Testing for Mental Health Research; Development of Statistical Methodology and Dissemination of Software for Analyzing Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) Data.
