Title: Capillary-rise dynamics in porous materials
Abstract: We examine a class of problems related to capillary rise in porous media. We give examples for rigid and deformable porous materials as well as saturated and partially-saturated flows. Mathematical models and computational results are compared with experimental data across these various configurations. We highlight both early-time dynamics as well as long-time dynamics. We compare and contrast the results to capillary-rise problems in tubes and channels.
