Description
Title: Exploring the dynamical roles of intracellular biochemical noise
Speaker: Ankit Gupta, ETH Zurich
Abstract: Intracellular processes are often affected by dynamical noise arising from the randomness of interactions among biomolecular species. Many recent studies have implicated this dynamical noise in playing several important functional roles in Biology. The aim of my talk is to present some illustrative examples of this phenomena. These examples will emphasise the beneficial effects of intracellular noise on vital biological processes such as cell polarity, cellular homeostasis, entrainment of oscillating cell populations and amplification of enzyme substrates.
