Differential Equations Seminar: Randy Price

Abstract: In this talk I will go over the Azouni-Olson-Titi (AOT) data assimilation algorithm applied to the 3D Navier-Stokes equations. I will also go over the difficulties in doing data assimilation in the 3D case compared to the 2D setting. Time permitting, I will discuss an adaptive algorithm which allows one to tune the "nudging parameter" in turbulent regions of the flow.
