Topic:  Best practices for group work

It can be a useful pedagogical tool to have students work in groups, but what is the best way to effectively do that?  In this teaching circle we will discuss the mechanics of student groups, including persistent vs.  intermittent groups, how to hold groups accountable, grading group work, and techniques for creating productive group activities.  Please bring your own experiences with group work (formal or informal, from the perspective of either the instructor or the instructed).

To prepare for the teaching circle, please read this short article: Using Cooperative Learning Groups Effectively.
