- Title
- Predictive Model for Hospitalization due to COVID-19
- Abstract
- This project proposes a predictive model in order to estimate individual-level risks of hospitalization due to COVID-19 for Medicare fee for service (FFS) beneficiaries across the state of Maryland. This predictive model is expected to serve as a tool to help health care providers prospectively identify individuals at risk of hospitalization for the current and future pandemics. With the tool, health care providers can identify these individuals before they reach the hospital, then it may be possible for them to design suitable proactive interventions to try to reduce these individuals’ risk of hospitalization. We would build the predictive model using a discrete-time hazard model via the Maryland FFS claims data.
