Naghmeh Akhavan defended her doctoral dissertation last month. The interdisciplinary research, under the supervision of her mentor, Dr. Brad Peercy, and in collaboration with fellow graduate student Alex George and Dr. Michelle Starz-Gaiano of Biology, has led to an article published in iScience.
